Accreditation

The Council accredits curriculum developers, assessors, verifiers and assessment centers.

Curriculum developers

These are individuals accredited by the Council to develop curricula in various trades.

Procedure for accreditation of Curriculum Developers

1. Application to Council in the prescribed format i.e. by filling form TCDACC/APP/1.
2. Suitability interview.
3. Data capture in the Council’s register.
4. Issuance of accreditation certificate to the successful curriculum developer.

Assessors and verifiers

An assessor is aperson accredited by the Council to carry out competence assessments while a verifier is a person accredited by the Council to monitor the work of assessors involved with the qualification by ensuring reliability, credibility and validity of the qualifications and providing advice where necessary.

An assessor may be:

1. An instructor/trainer
2. A workplace trainer
3. Skilled worker
4. Supervisor in industry or training institution

Procedure for Accreditation of Assessors and verifiers

1. Application to the Council in the prescribed format i.e. by filling form TCDACC/APP/1.
2. Suitability interview.
3. Data capture in the Council’s register.
4. Issuance of an accreditation certificate to the successful assessor/verifier.

Assessment Center

Accreditation of an assessment center is the process whereby the Council grants recognition to a training institution, industry or a set up indicating that it meets established standards of quality to conduct competence assessment.

Procedure for Accreditation of a Assessment Center

1. Application to the Council in the prescribed format i.e. by filling form TCDACC/APP/2.
2. On-site inspection by the Council to assess.
3. Communication to applicant within sixty working days specifying;
   • Whether accredited
   • Not accredited
4. Recommendation of possible improvements/remedial requirements for unsatisfactory findings.
5. Issuance of an accreditation certificate.
